Cheeseburger Sliders

Seasoned ground beef and two layers of melted cheese baked between Hawaiian rolls with a buttery garlic top.

Ingredients
  

  • 1½ pounds ground beef, 80/20
  • 1 small yellow onion finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¾ teaspoon fine salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls connected
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 8 slices sharp cheddar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds optional
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Method
 

  1. Brown the beef with onion and seasonings until it reaches 160°F. Drain excess fat.
  2. Press the beef into an even layer.
  3. Slice the connected rolls in half horizontally in one cut.
  4. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish and brush with butter.
  5. Layer American cheese, the beef, and cheddar, then the top rolls.
  6. Brush the top with remaining garlic butter and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  7. Cover with vented foil and bake at 350°F for 12 minutes.
  8. Uncover and bake 6 to 8 minutes until golden.
  9. Rest 5 minutes.
  10. Slice along the roll seams and top with parsley.

Notes

Storage: Refrigerate up to 4 days. Reheat covered at 325°F for 10 minutes. Freezes up to 2 months.
